A drawing of a drawbridge in Tokyo, catalogued with foreign visitors as its subject, stands apart from the gallery's more typical woodblock prints. The record credits Isoda Koryūsai, an Edo-based ukiyo-e artist active from 1764 to 1788, best known for prints of women and courtesans. The date given is 1750, which does not match the artist's working years, and the subject headings point to 1850 to 1900. That gap is worth checking against the Library of Congress entry, since dates and attributions in older collections are often revised as scholars study them.
