Bull Street, one of the north-south avenues laid out in Savannah's original 1733 plan, is the subject of this view from about 1906, recorded on a 7 by 5 inch glass plate negative. The Detroit Publishing Company, which sent photographers across the United States in the early twentieth century and sold their views as prints and postcards, made it under catalog number 9464. Savannah's shaded residential streets, lined with live oaks and set around a chain of public squares, drew many photographers of the period. The negative was later given to the State Historical Society of Colorado and transferred in 1949.
