This drawing is recorded as showing a drawbridge in Tokyo with foreign visitors, a subject that points to the years when Japan was reopening to Western trade and diplomacy after more than two centuries of restriction. The catalog's subject headings date the scene to 1850 through 1900, while the date field reads 1750. The attributed artist, Isoda Koryūsai, was an ukiyo-e master active between 1764 and 1788, so the 1750 date does not fit his career and should be read with caution. The contradictory dates are worth keeping in mind when judging when the drawing was made.
