Drawbridges over the moats and canals of Tokyo, which was called Edo until 1868, are the subject this drawing's record names, along with foreign visitors to the city. The catalog credits Isoda Koryūsai, an Edo-based artist working from the 1760s to the 1780s, but the 1750 date falls before those years, so the attribution and date are worth checking against other sources. The castle city's bridges were a familiar part of its landscape, and the mismatch between the artist's period and the 1850-1900 subject range suggests the record may combine details from different sources.
