Catalogued only as a Japanese drawing, this sheet is tied in its record to drawbridges in Tokyo and to foreign visitors there, subjects the cataloguers place between 1850 and 1900. The record also dates it to 1750 and credits Isoda Koryūsai, an Edo-period ukiyo-e artist whose known activity runs from about 1764 to 1788, so the date and attribution do not sit comfortably together. Its botanical note hints at a study rather than a finished scene, and the entry is best read as a starting point for checking the original.
