Five woodcut sheets join into one continuous scene of horsemen at a polo match, a subject that points to Japan's Meiji period, when the sport arrived through foreign residents and was soon taken up by Japanese officers. The record dates the print to 1750, which cannot be right for this subject, and the subject range of 1870 to 1880 suggests a later date. Both credited artists share the name Utagawa Hiroshige, and the first died in 1858, so the attribution needs care and the print may come from a later artist working in the family's style. The wide format lets the riders and mounts stretch across the full length of the panel.
