Five sheets joined into one panoramic scene set this woodcut apart, showing riders on a polo field, a pastime that Western residents brought to Japan's treaty ports in the 1870s. Prints like this recorded the new foreign leisure appearing alongside older Japanese scenes of the period. The catalog date of 1750 predates both the sport and the artists credited, so the 1870s subject heading is the more reliable guide to when the print was made.
