Two sheets printed as a single diptych, this color woodcut bears the engraver's name, Matsushima Seikichi, and it sits in the Library of Congress's Japanese prints holdings through the Noyes Collection. The catalog dates it to 1750, but its subject heading points to ethnic groups in the 1800 to 1850 period, so the date is worth checking against the sheet itself. Ukiyo-e prints of this kind were mass-produced for an urban audience in Edo-period Japan, and the record's note calling the piece a "fake" suggests it may be a later imitation of an earlier style.
