Fort Clark, in southwest Texas near the Mexican border, is the setting for this view of a horse-drawn wagon parked beside a canvas tent. Founded in 1852 on Las Moras Creek, the post served as a cavalry station through much of the frontier era, and the teams and wagons shown would have been essential to moving supplies and men across dry country. The caption card also links the scene to the Army Medical Corps, a reminder that the post's medical work depended on transport like this. The date is only approximate, so the picture is best read as a glimpse of ordinary frontier army life in the 1880s.
