This glass negative shows Miss Kate Samuels and Hal Crawford, both named in a title that the record marks as unverified. It comes from the National Photo Company, a commercial firm that photographed American cities and their people in the 1910s and 1920s. The plate is dated to about 1923 and was given to the Library of Congress by Herbert A. French in 1947. Expect streaks and blemishes, which come from natural deterioration of the original glass coatings.
