Few travel posters of the 1920s pair stained glass with elevated railways, but this one, titled *Chicago's Beautiful Churches by the Elevated Lines*, does just that, setting church architecture beside the city's transit. Printed in Chicago in 1923 by the National Printing & Engraving Company, it is a chromolithograph, a color process that built up the image from several separate printing plates. Its juxtaposition of worship spaces and steel tracks reflects how Chicago presented itself to visitors in the period, as a city of both striking architecture and fast urban movement.
