Oranges and the farms that grew them are the focus of this 1947 chromolithograph, which presents Palestine as a land where ancient beauty was being brought back to life. Citrus was among the country's most valuable crops in the Mandate period, and Jaffa oranges were widely shipped to European markets. The poster was printed in Tel Aviv for the Tourist Office of the Jewish Agency for Palestine in Jerusalem, and it was meant to draw visitors to a land still under British rule, months before the United Nations voted on partition.
