This view of Fenway Park is dated to late September 1914, only a few years after the Boston Red Sox moved into the ballpark in 1912. The park was built on reclaimed marshland in the Fenway neighborhood, which gave it its name, and it quickly became one of the sights of the city's baseball culture. The photograph comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, a body of news pictures made by a New York photographer, so it reflects the press interest in the ballpark during its early years.
