Its caption, "I've squared things with your aunt but where's your Indian, my boy?", hints at the comic tone the production aimed for. The color lithograph was printed by the Strobridge Litho Co. of Cincinnati and New York, a firm that produced many of the theater posters of the period. It advertises a play staged at the Manhattan theater in 1900 and produced by William A. Brady and Joseph R. Grismer, two managers active on Broadway at the time. Large, bold sheets like this one were designed to catch the eye of passersby on busy city streets.
