This poster advertises *The Merry World* at the Casino, one of New York's leading venues for light musical entertainment in the 1890s. Its color lithography was produced by the National Printing & Engraving Company of Chicago, a firm that supplied theatrical companies touring across the country. The record also credits Clair M. Patee, identified as manager, whose name appears alongside the printer's. Posters like this one were designed to be pasted on walls and billboards, so their bold color and large lettering were meant to catch the eye of passersby.
