The Women's Pavilion stood in Fairmount Park during the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia in 1876, where it showcased the work of women from across the country. It was raised with support from the Women's Centennial Executive Committee, which sought to highlight women's contributions to industry, art, and education. This lithograph, published by Thos. Hunter, shows the building as a bright, ornamented exhibition hall. The catalog tags for the print place it among views of exhibition buildings in Pennsylvania, a reminder of how much of the country's attention turned to Philadelphia that year.
