The Women's Pavilion stood on the Centennial grounds in Fairmount Park, a separate building raised with money raised largely by women and dedicated to showing their work. This stereograph, taken from the North Gallery side, shows the building as visitors would have approached it during the 1876 exhibition. Stereo cards like this one were sold to fairgoers as keepsakes, letting viewers see the grounds in depth through a hand viewer. The pavilion's exhibits of women's art, design and inventions made it one of the fair's notable spaces for debating women's place in public life.
