Unlike the views of the fairgrounds that dominate this board, this albumen print records a sculpture on display in the Palace of Fine Arts at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The fair, held to mark the centennial of the French Revolution, drew millions of visitors to the Champ de Mars, where the Eiffel Tower also rose as its centerpiece.
