Selig Polyscope Company's western drama *The Rustler's Reformation* is the film this color poster promotes, and its title points to a story about a cattle thief who mends his ways, with courtship and love as its central themes. The poster was printed by National Pho-Eng. Co. in New York around 1913, when lithographed posters like this one were used to draw exhibitors and moviegoers to a film. Selig, a Chicago-founded studio, was one of the early producers of western pictures, and its cowboy stories helped define the genre for audiences of the 1910s.
