Here communism speaks for itself, under a title that reads "I am communism, this is my face," and that face is a skull set beneath a hammer and sickle. The image turns the political emblem into a warning of death, a tactic common in the propaganda produced during the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939. This silkscreen print is in color, and its Portuguese wording alongside a Spanish imprint shows how these posters traveled across borders and languages.
