This poster sets its message in the words of a speech by Juan Negrín, who led the Republican government from May 1937, so the quoted line is what gives it its voice. Printed in Valencia, which served as the Republic's seat of government for much of the war, the lithograph carries the Ortega imprint and the control label of the UGT and CNT, the two large labor federations that backed the Republic. Its subject is military personnel, and it appeals to national duty while the Republic was fighting to hold its territory against Nationalist forces.
