A line from a speech by Juan Negrín, Spain's prime minister in 1937, anchors this lithograph, which speaks of victory, peace, and the expansion of the Republic. Printed in Valencia in 1937 by the Ortega workshop under the control of the UGT and CNT unions, it reflects a period when the Republican government was based in Valencia and the city was a center of wartime propaganda. Large color posters like this one were meant for public walls, where messages of unity and resolve reached workers and soldiers during the Spanish Civil War.
