This poster addresses the men of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk together, naming both counties in a single appeal. It reminds them that regular and Territorial battalions from the region were already fighting, and it asks them to "obey the call of duty and help your comrades." Printed in 1915, when voluntary enlistment was still the main route into the army, it reflects the pressure on local communities to supply men for the front. Text-only designs like this were meant to be taken in at a glance on a wall or hoarding, so the wording had to carry the whole argument.
