This poster sets out its appeal in words alone: three kinds of men, those who answer the call, those who put it off, and "the others," with the reader asked to decide which he is. It was issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in 1915, when Britain still relied on voluntary enlistment, and the moral pressure in the text reflects that. Conscription for single men followed in early 1916, so posters like this one show the government trying to persuade men to enlist before it had to compel them. The Abbey Press in Westminster printed many posters of this series.
