Rather than show a soldier or a factory, this 1915 lithograph is made of words alone, and it asks each reader which of three contributions he is making: men, munitions or money. By 1915 Canada had sent volunteers overseas and was turning its factories toward shells and other war materiel, while appeals for funds grew more frequent. Posters like this one addressed civilians directly, presenting enlistment, industrial production and financial support as parallel duties that every person at home could be expected to meet.
