Fred Snodgrass appears here as a New York Giants outfielder, photographed around 1910 by the Bain News Service during the years he played in the National League. He is remembered mainly for a dropped fly ball in Game 10 of the 1912 World Series, an error that became known as "Snodgrass's Muff." The picture survives as a glass negative in the George Grantham Bain Collection at the Library of Congress, a body of work that documents daily life and sport in the early twentieth century.
