The Polo Grounds, home of the New York Giants in upper Manhattan, is the setting of this long panoramic print, taken on October 13, 1910. The record notes a copyright deposit by the Pictorial News Company on October 20, 1910, which suggests the picture was circulated as a news image soon after the game. A panorama of this shape let viewers take in the whole ballpark, its seating and its field at once, something a standard camera plate could not easily show.
