The Polo Grounds, the ballpark at Coogan's Bluff in upper Manhattan, is the setting here, and a panoramic format suits a stadium that filled a wide natural bowl above the Harlem River. By 1910 the grounds were home to the New York Giants, who played there from 1891 and would stay until 1957.
