The steamer Nehasac was one of the passenger boats that carried summer visitors across the Fulton Chain of lakes in the Adirondack Mountains in the early 1900s, linking hotels, camps, and landings in a region that drew city vacationers by rail and water. The Detroit Publishing Company, which made views of resort areas and scenic destinations, produced many such images to encourage travel. The 8 by 10 inch glass negative shows a broken and taped upper-left corner, signs of years of handling before it came to the State Historical Society of Colorado and later the Library of Congress.
