Unlike a typical city view, this drawing is cataloged under flowers and botanicals, while its subject tags point to a drawbridge in Tokyo and foreign visitors there between 1850 and 1900. The attribution is to Isoda Koryūsai, a ukiyo-e artist active from about 1764 to 1788, so the listed date of 1750 predates his career and is likely an error. Koryūsai is best known for prints of women and for bird-and-flower compositions, in keeping with the Edo-period interest in close observation of plants and natural subjects. The subject labels, date and attribution do not fully agree, so readers should treat them as the catalog's own notes.
