The poster promises that a traveling show has added an aviary and an aquarium, presenting live birds and fish as new attractions alongside the main program. Posters like this were usually color lithographs, printed in quantity and pasted on fences, storefronts and walls ahead of a show's arrival, so they had to catch the eye quickly. Live fish were still a novelty for most audiences at the time, and glass aquariums drew crowds at fairs and exhibitions. Advertising a fresh exhibit like this was a common way for a show to bring people back for a return visit.
