The Bavarian National Museum traces back to the 1850s, and its collections of religious art, furniture, and decorative objects drew visitors from across Europe. The photochrom process used for this print, a color method based on stone lithography, was developed in Switzerland, and Detroit Publishing Co. sold these views in the United States.
