The Eternal Prodigal, staged by the WPA Federal Dance theater in 1936 and choreographed by Gluck-Sandor, takes its title from the parable of the prodigal son. Gluck-Sandor was a dancer and choreographer working in New York, and the production was one of many the Federal theater Project mounted to employ artists during the Depression. Its dance unit offered modern works to public audiences at low prices. The silkscreen print uses flat, bold color typical of the Works Progress Administration's poster workshops, and the record also credits Kingsley Herbert in connection with the production.
