The dashboard in this print belongs to a 1946 Buick, one of the first full model-year cars built by General Motors after the Second World War halted civilian auto production. Buick's wartime output had gone to aircraft engines and military vehicles, so postwar cars like this one were a visible sign that consumer manufacturing was returning.
