Photographed on March 24, 1924, this picture is titled for Wilbur and the group around him, though the title is unverified. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio active from about 1906 to 1936, recorded city life and events, so the picture offers a glimpse of the period's social and civic world. Glass plates like this one were the standard medium of the time, and this example shows the streaks and blemishes that come from natural deterioration of its original coating.
