The title names Wilbur and Gen'l Lloyd E. Britt, and the negative is dated April 26, 1924. The National Photo Company, a Washington studio that recorded newsworthy people and events in the early twentieth century, made the plate, and Herbert A. French gave it to the Library of Congress in 1947. The studio's title was written on the negative sleeve and has not been independently verified. Streaks and blemishes on the glass come from natural deterioration of the original coatings.
