Two men, identified on the negative as Wilbur and Commander Nathan H. Wright, appear in this small glass plate dated April 18, 1924. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio known for documenting officials, events and everyday life in the capital in the early twentieth century, made the exposure. The names come from unverified information written on the negative or its sleeve, so they should be treated as provisional. Herbert A. French gave the plate to the Library of Congress in 1947. Streaks and spots from the breakdown of the original coating are visible, a common sign of glass negatives of this age.
