Twenty-one-foot sailboats wait for the start of their race at the Inter-Lake Yachting Association meet at Put-In-Bay, Ohio, on July 10, 1904. The association brought sailing clubs from around the Great Lakes together for regattas in the waters of South Bass Island, in Lake Erie. The view is a large 8 by 10 inch glass negative from the Detroit Publishing Company, whose photographers recorded resorts, waterfronts and events across the United States around the turn of the century.
