An interior at the corner of 13th and G streets in Washington, labeled for a Dr. Bliss, is the subject of this glass negative, though the record gives no further detail about the room or his practice. Dated to about 1919 or 1920, it belongs to the National Photo Company collection, the work of a commercial studio that documented Washington's streets, buildings and interiors in the early twentieth century. Streaks and blemishes across the glass reflect natural deterioration of the original coatings, a common condition for negatives of this age. Herbert A. French donated the negative to the Library of Congress in 1947.
