Eagle Rock, the Los Angeles neighborhood named in this drawing's title, is where Frank Lloyd Wright planned a house for Mrs. Charles P. Lowes in 1922. Wright inscribed the sheet "FLW Taliesin Dec 8 22," which marks it as work completed at his Wisconsin studio that December. The worm's-eye view, looking up from ground level, makes the house loom against the sky and emphasizes the strong horizontals Wright favored. Drawn in colored pencil and graphite on tracing paper, the sheet is part of the Donald D. Walker collection.
