Few Case Study drawings show color as clearly as this sheet, which documents the house Charles Eames designed for himself at 203 Chautauqua Boulevard in West Los Angeles. John Entenza, editor of *Arts & Architecture*, sponsored the Case Study House program to show how modern design could serve everyday living, and the Eames House became one of its best-known entries. Ray Eames worked out the color design, while Kenneth Acker served as architect of record and draftsman on this diazo print. The house's use of laminated plastics and color, both noted in the catalog record, helped set it apart from conventional houses of its day.
