Woodrow Wilson sits in a wicker chair on the lawn of Prospect, the house in Princeton, New Jersey, that served as the official residence of the university's presidents, and he faces left, away from the camera. The photograph dates to about 1910, near the end of Wilson's time as Princeton's president, a post he left that year to run for governor of New Jersey. He later became the 28th president of the United States in 1913. The American Press Association held the copyright, which suggests the picture was made for wider newspaper circulation.
