Little is recorded about this particular view, catalogued simply as a trolley, but the negative itself is part of the story. It comes from the National Photo Company collection, whose work is dated to roughly 1910 through 1935, a period when electric streetcars were a familiar sight on American streets, carrying workers and shoppers along fixed tracks. The catalog notes also point to streaks and blemishes from the natural breakdown of the original coatings, a reminder that the film has aged along with the streets it recorded.
