Two named sitters, Suzette Dewey and Katherine Brown, are recorded for this glass negative dated February 15, 1927, which sets it apart from many studio pictures that carry no names. It comes from the National Photo Company, a commercial studio in Washington, D.C., whose negatives were later gathered into the Library of Congress. Herbert A. French gave the plate to the library in 1947. The original coating has deteriorated, so streaks and blemishes now mark the surface, a common condition for glass negatives of this age.
