Jesus College, one of the older colleges of the University of Cambridge, is the subject here, shown in the photochrom process. The college was founded in 1496 on the site of a former Benedictine nunnery, and its chapel still incorporates parts of the old nunnery church. The Detroit Publishing Company issued this view in its England series, listed as print number 10131 in its 1905 catalog. Photochroms were built up from several lithographic stones, each inked in a separate color, so the tints were layered by hand.
