The title names five Confederate commanders: James Longstreet, P.G.T. Beauregard, John C. Breckenridge, Fitzhugh Lee and Robert E. Lee. The catalog dates the negative to 1860, which is before the war began in 1861, so that date may be wrong. The glass negative was made by the wet collodion process and is credited to photographer David B. Woodbury, who died in 1866. Viewers should read it as a record of Confederate leadership in Virginia during the war.
