The Sagamore boat landing on Lake George was a steamboat stop for the Sagamore, a vessel named in the record and tied to the Green Island shoreline in Warren County, New York. Between 1890 and 1910, lake steamers were a main way for summer visitors to reach the resorts and hotels along the shore, so a landing like this one was often a traveler's first sight of the lake. The glass negative comes from the Detroit Publishing Company, whose large-format views of American scenery and resorts were widely sold in those years. Its record also notes a 1949 gift to the State Historical Society of Colorado.
