Ty Cobb is shown stealing third base on this 1912 card, one of the Hassan Triple Folders issued by the American Tobacco Company as cigarette inserts. The folder format held three cards, and the T202 series is known for its color relief printing with halftone images. Cobb, the Detroit Tigers outfielder, was the sport's most feared base runner in those years, and a card caption also credits George Moriarty, a Tigers infielder who later became an umpire. The card is part of the Benjamin K. Edwards Collection of baseball cards held by the Library of Congress.
