Few pictures in this collection name a document as directly as this one does: a photographic print of the Prague Manifesto, the declaration associated with Andrei Vlasov's Russian Liberation Army, a force of Soviet prisoners and defectors that fought alongside Germany in the Second World War. The manifesto was proclaimed in Prague in November 1944, so the 1942 date on the caption card, which is only partly verified, should be read with caution. Its call to overthrow the Soviet regime made it one of the most debated political texts to come out of Soviet émigré and collaborationist circles.
