Tower Falls, where Tower Creek drops into a rocky canyon before meeting the Yellowstone River, is the focus of this card, which looks east across the river toward the cascade. Publisher William I. Marshall issued it in 1876 as number 76 in a series of 122 views of Yellowstone National Park. The park had been set aside as the first national park only four years earlier, in 1872, and cards like this one brought its scenery into parlors across the country, where viewers used a stereoscope to see the falls and canyon walls in three dimensions.
